Cactus Island Expanding Records Maps and Diagramsは、イギリスのノッティンガム出身であるTim Martinによるソロユニット。 名義の由来は、視覚障害者のための触覚的案内図(Maps)や図(Diagrams)を作っていたから。彼の作品は、ロンドン地下鉄やショッピングセンター、アートギャラリーなどで用いられている。 引っ越し先でSteve Davis(後のBroca)と出会う。彼とは70年代のポルノフィルムについて情報交換をするが、これはそれらの作品で使われていた音楽スタイルに魅せられたからである。そのスタイルを再現すべく、後に2人はSovacusaを結成し、共同制作を行うことになる。 またCactus Island Recordingsもこの2人によって結成され、2002年5月には連名で"Ti Sta Bene Marone / Sei Cosi Dolce"をリリースした。 2003年7月、イギリスのPAUSE_2 Recordingsより、1stアルバム"Free-Time"を発売し、その1ヶ月後の8月にはExpanding Recordsより"Polytuft-Tech"をリリースした。 翌2004年、CathodeやStendecといった、Expanding Recordsでも見かける顔ぶれがリリースを行っているレーベルStatic Caravanより"Caoutchouc"をリリース。この作品のアートワークは、モンゴル産のコークウッドから作られている。 2006年5月、日本のMoamooよりアルバム"Antennas And Signals"を発表した。 2008年には自身のCactus Island Recordingsより、"Smeg"をデジタルフォーマットで配信した。MP3とFLACの二種類でのリリースで、価格はFLACの方が1ポンド高い。 2011年にはカセットアルバムを含む3アルバムをリリースした。Get Lostはフィールドレコーディングを取り入れており、アムステルダム、スウェーデン、イギリスなどがその舞台となっている。 Sample(Polymer Tunnel)
